Alright I wanna talk about something that’s fucking nuts about this show. The two main characters spend nearly the entire movie in their underwear, we watch them have sex, and one of the film’s big showdowns is a fight between two naked women, but at no point did I ever feel like Pandy or the warden were sexualized in some sort of shitty eschergirls sort of way.
I can’t nail down exactly what it is that feels that way to me. Part of it might be that since the whole thing is so frantic we never really get the chance to develop anyone too far, so she didn’t need too much put into her personality-wise to be equal to any other cast member, but I’d like to give the short a bit more credit than that. In fact now that I think about it I think she gets more lines of dialog than anyone else in the thing, even more than Retro.
Haha, now that I think about it, I always thought of this show as being a twin-lead but now I’m pretty sure that it’s just about Pandy and Retro’s just along for the ride.
I’m gonna go watch this on Netflix again I recommend you all do the same and we’ll all meet back here with our conclusions. I really want to know if someone can put this into words for me of if I’m just way off.
