HI I'M MATT HOW ARE YOU
prinpan:

Hello! This is Severin, checking in with progress from Dungeon Panic. We’re currently digging our way through character animation, a process accurately depicted by Default Dude above. Thousands of precautions have been taken to keep this complicated process organized and efficient. At this point I’m seeing pixels in my SLEEP.

The weird creature above is a monster known as a Dragling! Dragling is big, but he’s not quite a dragon. He waddles around dungeons, bashing things with his head whenever the mood fits him, which is often. The animation for Dragling was done by the multi-faceted Matt Bixler!

You guys this game and how Space Ace is that falling animation!

Well folks, this is the LAST HOUR!! I’m about to take a cutie out for a birthday lunch, so you won’t hear from me until it’s all over. This is the last chance! Thank you all in advance!

There are only three hours left to go in the Dungeon Panic Kick starter! If not now, then never! Hurry up and get in there!!!

prinpan:

Only 3 days left? Where does the time go!
Let’s get right to it.
BURGERMANCERS

The Burgermancers descend from the tall peaks of Borealis, spreading fear among fast food vendors far and wide, descending on hapless burgers in the dead of night and draining them of life. To execute their mysterious plans, the Burgermancers can raise legions of loyal undead burgers straight from the ground. And should the Burgermancer need to cross vast distances or make a quick escape, he or she can even turn into a flying burger. Burgermancers are cold and distant, typically absent from everyday society, but make for powerful allies.
STICKERS
Along with the Fairy stickers that were posted earlier, we will be sending out sticker packs of Princess A and Princess B. Alas, these won’t be finished before the Kickstarter ends, but we do have some progress to show!

NEW TIER!
Interested in having your likeness appear in the game? Back the new “You’re a Star” tier, and when the Kickstarter ends we’ll ask for a photo and/or description of you and we will draw your likeness as an NPC or monster! (your choice!). This is the last new tier we’ll be adding to the Kickstarter. Get it while it’s hot.
We are more than happy about doubling our goal, while at the same time, pretty determined to reach the big $10k. We’re so close that we can taste it. It tastes like burgers. And even with only a few days left, the pie-in-the-sky stretch goal of $15k isn’t out of the question either. We can do it! Let’s go! Burgers!
THIS IS THE FINAL BATTLE! GOOD LUCK!
BURGERS!

If you’re like me, you’ll never get tired of looking at burgermancers.
SO THROW MONEY AT THIS GAME SO YOU CAN SEE THEM

In the category of “pictures of things the backers are paying for”, I’m sure that screenshots and gameplay videos are at the top of the wanted list, but hopefully one of the sticker sheets will be okay, for the time being. I finished the art last night, and while there’s still a little bit of tinkering to do, but this is mostly how the Princess Panic fairy sheet will look.
Adelaide and Brittany are Princess A and Princess B’s companions, respectively. Both of them are discovered by the princesses trapped inside monsters, and neither of them remember how they got in there…. or, in fact, much of their previous lives at all.  They end up providing much help for the princesses in their quest to rescue each other - not only with their mysterious transformation powers, allowing them to become human sized warriors with various powers to kick monster hiney — but also as fine companions. Adelaide is a bit of a crass and foulmouthed gal whose personality grows on A almost immediately, while B’s inability to talk (per se) leads Britt to feel the need to help her out, causing her to deal with her own social phobias in ways she never could before.
While developing the story of Princess Panic, the fairies turned out to be pretty integral elements indeed. Alas, all that being said, since Dungeon Panic canonically takes place before PP, the fairies can’t really appear within the story, but I’d still like to non-canonically insert them in somehow, maybe as menu decorations, achievement icons, tutorial buddies… We’ll definitely think of something…

GUYS
We are about five hundred dollars away from funding right now!
I cannot say enough good things about this game and this team, it’s already been one of the coolest experiences of my life.  Please please please HELP OUT, you won’t be disappointed.
Also a big sticker that says fuck you and it wasn’t even my idea.

Dungeon Panic seems to be going pretty good so far, doesn’t it? Let’s take a look at some development art! Here are among the first NPC designs Severin sketched out. Those who saw the video will recognize the angry archer. As an added bonus, I gave her a quick ink job just to provide a bit of art for you guys and also to get in some practice drawing over Severin’s art, which I may have to do every once in a while! (mostly, it’ll be vice-versa though)

Along with this, we’d like to announce a couple art-related tiers added to the Kickstarter!

For $25, you can get a digital artbook featuring all the designs and drawings we’re currently working on as we develop Dungeon Panic… and even a bit of Princess Panic stuff as well! Note that if you already made a pledge above $25, this book will already be included, gratis!

For $200, you can get a much more elaborate art commission that Severin and I will collaborate on! This is the Ultimate Art tier and there are only two slots in it, so hurry on over!

Now that the Kickstarter is out in the open, we can be a bit more open on this blog as well, so expect updates to pick up quite a bit. See you soon!

Hey if you guys were like “I want to contribute to Dungeon Panic but I just don’t think there’s a reward tier for ME” well then shut up and quit complaining for two minutes of your life and CONTRIBUTE TO DUNGEON PANIC!

24 Hours, 50%!

prinpan:

Hello Tumblr followers!  Developer John here with a few messages from the team.

First off, wow!  As I write this we have just crossed the 24 hour mark, and we are already over half-way to goal! Outstanding!  We are still riding high from the great response, and to everyone who has backed us so far: thank you, thank you, thank you!

Yes, we have more reward tiers coming.  The success of the top $90 tier was, frankly, surprising. When they are ready, we will let you know.  Today’s U.S. holiday puts a damper on things, but we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

And, remember, if you’d like to support us but aren’t interested in the game itself, you can pledge at the $1 level and get a comic!  Support comics AND indie games all at once!  That’s a pretty good deal.

And now, since we have noticed some quiet rumblings, I’ll speak a bit about our choice of platform.

This is really really awesome you guys!  Don’t stop spreading this around, let’s put this Kickstarter into comical stunt levels!  We’ve got more tiers on the way so ready your giving glands and spread that link around!
